About iDesign Granite
iDesign Granite is a countertop fabrication and installation company in Fredericksburg, Virginia, founded in 2017 by Vamekh "JJ" Gegeshidze. Since then the shop has completed more than 5,000 countertop projects across the Fredericksburg region, currently installing 2 to 3 kitchens and baths every working day. Everything happens under one roof: slab selection in our own yard, digital templating, CNC fabrication, in-shop sealing, and installation by crews who have worked to our standards for years.
Why JJ started iDesign Granite
The countertop industry runs on handoffs: retailers who subcontract fabrication, fabricators who hand sealing to installers at the job site, and homeowners who find out what that means a year later when the stone stains or a seam opens. JJ founded iDesign Granite in spring 2017 to run a shop the opposite way. In his words, the goal is "to deliver pretty much the highest standards you can have in this industry," and the shop's heavy investment in machinery is the proof of that commitment: digital templating, CNC cutting, slab photo scanning, and in-shop sealing all exist to remove the places where quality usually leaks. That approach is why the shop passed 5,000 installs in under a decade, and why so much of its work arrives through local kitchen and bath professionals and referrals

Because measurement and cutting are digital end to end, we essentially never recut a piece for being mismeasured, and installs go faster because nothing is shaved or modified in your kitchen. Some shops adjust on the job site. We send everything to fit.
How we keep quality consistent at 600+ installs a year
Every job is briefed to the install crew at pickup. Every completed job comes back the same day as photos the whole shop reviews, plus a completion form signed by the homeowner. Install crews are not day-labor: they are dedicated crews who have worked with iDesign for years and know the standards, and new installers are never sent to a job. When something misses the standard, it gets addressed, and we go back and fix anything covered by our 1 year labor warranty without argument.
The honest-shop reputation
Two things we are known for locally. First, we tell people the truth about materials: which stone fits their lifestyle and budget, and which one we would not sell them for their use case, even when it is the more expensive sale. Second, other people's customers end up here: we regularly get called to fix failed seams, sagging sinks, and stained stone from installs done elsewhere, and employees of the big box stores have repeatedly sent their own cabinet customers to us, and bought their own countertops here.
Meet JJ and the Team
JJ (Vamekh Gegeshidze), Founder
JJ came to the granite trade through the work itself: fabrication, polishing, measuring, installation, and sales. He immigrated to the United States, spent years learning every station in the shop, and in Spring 2017 saw that the Fredericksburg area needed a fabricator that treated countertops as craftsmanship rather than a commodity. He started iDesign Granite that year. What drives him is the reputation of the trade. JJ believes fabricators and installers are undervalued, and he built the company to prove what a skilled crew can do when the work is taken seriously.
Levan
CNC Drafter - Levan has been in the custom countertop industry for over 17 years, working in finishing, installation, and measuring before moving to drafting. He creates the cut drawings and programs the CNC that cuts each countertop out of the slab. His accuracy is why our install crews rarely have to cut on site. That means cleaner job sites, consistent finish across a run of counters, and fewer surprises on install day.
Justin
Sales Representative - Justin grew up around the granite industry through his father and came to iDesign from retail sales. He works with customers through material selection and project planning, and he is usually the one walking homeowners through the slab yard.
Nicole
Sales Representative - Nicole has 18 years in the industry and knows the product line inside out. She is drawn to how much a countertop changes a room: swap the tops and a kitchen or bathroom reads as fully renovated without touching anything else. In her words, "It is comforting working for a company that truly cares about the employees and the clients."
Ismael
Measure Tech - Ismael joined iDesign Granite in 2020 as an installer and moved into measuring on the strength of his eye for detail. He grew up in the trade; his father has over 20 years in the industry. He handles the digital templating that every fabrication job depends on.
Fabrication & Installation Team
The crew in the shop and on the trucks is the reason the finished product looks the way it does. JJ has spent his career watching fabricators and installers do skilled work without much recognition for it, and giving that crew visibility is part of why the company exists.
